Personal Hobbies and Interests
Outside of work, I love spending time with my husband, children, and extended family. I enjoy listening to music, watching movies, and going to concerts — especially to see Dave Matthews Band. I also love being outdoors, visiting the Detroit Zoo, and enjoying nature whenever I can.
At home, I have a 7-year-old Rottweiler named Puddles and a long-haired tortoiseshell cat named Bingo, who both bring a lot of personality and joy to our family.
Favorite Part of My Job
My favorite part of my job is working with animals alongside such an amazing team. I love being in an environment where I’m constantly learning and growing, and where my coworkers are always willing to share their knowledge and experience. It makes every day rewarding and keeps me motivated to continue improving my skills.
Why I Chose This Profession
I chose veterinary medicine because I’ve always loved working with both animals and people. After starting my career as a receptionist in a veterinary hospital, I saw firsthand how important quality care and client education are. After spending several years at home raising my children, I knew I wanted to return to the field in a more hands-on role so I could help provide the best care possible for pets and support their owners.
Education
Bachelor of Science in Psychology
Wayne State University (2006–2008)
Undergraduate Studies
Michigan State University (2003–2006)
Professional Background
My background in veterinary medicine began in a client-facing role, where I developed strong communication skills and gained a deep appreciation for the importance of client education and compassionate care. Transitioning into a veterinary assistant role has allowed me to work more directly with patients and expand my hands-on clinical skills.
I have experience performing radiographs, preparing and evaluating ear and skin cytologies, and drawing blood. I also enjoy working with a variety of species, including dogs, cats, and exotics, and learning more about their unique behaviors and needs.
Since joining the team at Harvey Animal Hospital, I’ve continued to grow my knowledge and confidence in a supportive, team-oriented environment, and I’m committed to providing attentive, compassionate care to every patient I work with.
