Preventive Care and Wellness Exams
Regular checkups are the foundation of lifelong health.
- Wellness visits every 6–12 months allow early detection of health issues and update your dog's individualized care plan.
- Heartworm testing is recommended annually.
- Fecal parasite testing should be performed multiple times during puppyhood and at least twice yearly for adult dogs.
- Preventive plans are customized based on lifestyle, environment, and regional disease risks.
Core and Lifestyle-Based Vaccines
Vaccination protects your dog from life-threatening diseases and helps protect public health.
Core vaccines (recommended for all dogs):
- Distemper (CDV)
- Parvovirus (CPV)
- Adenovirus (CAV-2, protects against hepatitis and kennel cough)
- Rabies (required by law in most regions)
- Leptospirosis – recommended for most dogs due to its widespread presence and zoonotic risk
Non-core vaccines (based on exposure and regional risk):
- Bordetella bronchiseptica – protects against kennel cough for social or boarding dogs

- Lyme disease (Borrelia burgdorferi) – for dogs in or traveling to endemic areas
Puppies start vaccines at 6–8 weeks, with boosters every 3–4 weeks until at least 16 weeks old, and a one-year booster thereafter. Adult dogs typically receive boosters every 1 or 3 years depending on the vaccine.

- Monthly prevention against heartworm, intestinal parasites, fleas, and ticks.
- Annual heartworm testing and year-round preventives for all dogs.

- If year-round prevention isn't possible, broad-spectrum deworming every 3 months is recommended.

- Microchip identification ensures your pet can be returned if lost.
